Rationale for an Emphasis on Math

Math encompasses more than merely calculating numbers. Although college students and professionals need to comprehend math basics, a thorough understanding of mathematics goes beyond calculations. Students who understand math possess skills enabling them to solve other pressing problems in life. Math empowers their minds with knowledge that helps them discern between reality and fabrications. Math skills enable students to dissect concepts until their basic essences are completely understood.

Reasoning Mind consists of a dedicated staff with positive views about the power of an excellent math education. At Reasoning Mind, people appreciate the process and merits attributed to the intellect. Thought is valued as though it is a tangible treasure worthy of any mental pursuit. At Reasoning Mind, the founders are in love with mathematics. Accordingly, the instructors wish to share the passion with eager students.

The Story of Reasoning Mind

The Khachatryan family, which includes Alex, his wife Julia, and a son named George, left Russia in 1990 and immigrated to the United States. Typical of many true immigration stories, the family only had $700 in savings, a few boxes filled with their favorite books and their educational backgrounds. They decided to move to the state of Texas where opportunities to teach enabled them to practice their skills in mathematics and science. Alex was in charge of an artificial intelligence lab at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. Julia was hired as part of a group of consultants where she used her knowledge derived from a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering.

When their son George got older, Alex and Julia were apprehensive about the fact that he did not have any interest in mathematics. George did not have a basic comprehension of math and he did not get any thrill out of performing mathematical calculations. Fortunately, a local math camp provided George with the opportunity to study math. While George was attending the camp, he became more enthusiastic about mathematics. He later joined intellectual forces with his parents for the purpose of devoting more attention to math education in the school system.

After studying the issues thoroughly, the family decided that many students did not appreciate math. They discovered that the public school system in the United States was challenged with a variable curricula and inadequate resource materials. Furthermore, teachers did not have access to advanced mathematical training. Additionally, students were not engaged in their math studies. The family decided to make use of their keenness for mathematics combined with Alex’s understanding of artificial intelligence. The result led to the founding of Reasoning Mind which provided a fresh approach to common issues. Reasoning Mind was established to provide outstanding math courses and dedicated teachers who loved teaching students about the mysteries surrounding mathematics.

Founded in the year 2000, Reasoning Mind is known as a nonprofit organization focused on providing superior training to math students in the United States. The organization currently helps more than 100,000 students and has 2,500 math instructors on the staff. Several universities and research centers have indicated that Reasoning Mind has managed to achieve excellent results. In 2015, Reasoning Mind won the Deloitte’s RightStep Innovation Prize devoted to finding the next “cutting-edge solution in education.” The Education Research Center at Texas A&M confirmed the fact that the organization has achieved successful results. The Academy of Medicine and the National Council on Teacher Quality, along with a group of prominent mathematicians including Dr. William Schmidt and Dr. R. James Milgram, have officially endorsed Reasoning Mind.
