You might think that Ryan Seacrest doesn’t have a free moment during the day, but the truth is, he is eager to work even more! The 43 years old American Idol host has recently revealed his desire to appear on Riverdale, the popular CW show. “I’m trying to get discovered!” Ryan said while explaining why he wants to be a part of the series.
His desire was to appear on the show came after it became a family affair for Kelly Ripa, his good friend and co-host on Live with Kelly and Ryan. Ripa’s husband, Mark Consuelos, is regular on the series and their son, Michael Consuelos, recently got the role of a younger version of his dad’s character, Huram Lodge! But when Ripa revealed that she’s also been cast to play her real-life husband’s on-screen mistress, that was the moment when Seacrest knew he had to do something.
“The whole family has been on the show practically,” Seacrest said and added, “I think it’s time for the other family.” However, even though he really wants a role on the popular teen drama, Seacrest hasn’t decided what character he’d like to take on. “I don’t know what part I would play,” Seacrest said. “I could be some sort of an assistant or something… All the fog would come in.”
His busy schedule aside, Ryan Seacrest insisted that he’s one phone call away from joining the show, “I’m ready, Riverdale. Waiting,” the popular host joked. “My phone is charged.”
This is not the first time that Seacrest has worked on popular TV shows. He’s recently produced Insatiable, the Netflix dramedy starring Debby Ryan, Dallas Roberts and Alyssa Milano. Ryan Seacrest Productions also produced NBC’s Jennifer Lopez drama “Shades of Blue” before picking up Insatiable. But also, there is a new comedy coming, inspired by Live with Kelly and Ryan hosts and their strong connection, called “Work Wife.”
Finally, Ryan Seacrest will executive produce the “Twelfth Night” inspired musical series. The series will be written by Steven Sater and it is described as a complicated love story between a young man and biological young woman, who throughout the series, begins to identify as gender-fluid. Ryan Seacrest Productions is producing the show along with Amazon.
Hugh Jackman’s Offer to Ryan Seacrest
Hugh Jackman is embarking on a 22-date world tour called The Man. The Music. The Show. “I’m going out on tour,” Hugh said On Air With Ryan Seacrest. He also invited Seacrest to make a surprise appearance! “I also want to have special guests,” Hugh added. “I want to have special guests each night… How’s your tap dancing?” he asked Ryan.
The Man. The Music. The Show. will show all of Jackman’s talents and his catalog, including music hits from Les Miserables and The Greatest Showman, and other Broadway shows.“It still kind of makes me laugh a little bit — careful what you wish for when you’re a kid. I always sort of dreamt of doing this on some level,” the famous actor added.
“Come on!” Hugh was persistent. “You have like five or six months to practice.” And who knows, Seacrest might even find time to join Hugh on his European tour in Germany, Switzerland, France, Ireland, and the UK before moving into the USA.
It’s not great, but I did take a class for the Live With Kelly and Ryan show and let’s just say I have some shoes,” Ryan told Hugh.

Ryan Seacrest Became an Uncle
New Year came earlier for Ryan Seacrest as he received the best gift ever! For the first time, Seacrest became an uncle. The famous host and producer announced the arrival of his new niece Flora on Live With Kelly and Ryan.
“First little baby Seacrest in the family!” Seacrest said, showing a picture of his sister Meredith and her baby. “She had the baby six minutes after we got off the air. Her name is Flora Marie, that’s the happy family… I can’t even look at it, it makes me cry.” Ryan then tried to read a group text from his brother-in-law, but he couldn’t get through it. “I’m so proud of Momma Mer today, she was so strong, and our daughter Flora is absolutely beautiful… I’m so proud to be her father…” Ryan continued as his voice cracked. “That’s the part that got me… I can’t do it,” he said through tears, handing the paper to co-host Kelly Ripa to finish reading.
Kelly was smitten as well; “It was so special seeing her meet all of her grandparents today; next it will be her uncle Ryan,” she said. Ryan posted on Instagram and wrote a lovely caption: “Yesterday was a big day for the Seacrest fam…8 pounds big. My sis had her baby! Can’t wait to finally meet my niece: Flora Marie”
But before Meredith gave birth to her baby girl, Ryan actually FaceTimed Meredith live on-air during Live With Kelly and Ryan. “On my way in, I got the call,” Ryan said. “My sister’s in the hospital. This is the first little Seacrest in the whole family. Here’s what I know: I think it’s going fast. I got a text ‘water broke’ and that was early like early this morning and then they got to the hospital and she’s nine and a half inches dilated.”
Seacrest also shared that his parents, Connie and Gary, were on their way to Nashville and that he’s waiting for the call any minute. But that wasn’t the most exciting part! Meredith then answered Ryan’s FaceTime call live on-air and revealed that she was 10 inches dilated and that she just got the epidural! Once again, the Seacrest family showed how close they are.
Of course, everyone wants to know if Ryan Seacrest wants to become a dad. But it seems like Ryan and his girlfriend Shayna Taylor aren’t planning kids anytime soon! The 43-year-old media mogul and his girlfriend dated a few years ago before rekindling their relationship in 2017. Seacrest has opened up to Ripa about his plans, “I’ve never been engaged,’ Ryan said and added, “I love the idea of marriage because my parents have been married for 47 years. The truth is I don’t want to screw it up.”
Seacrest Opens Up About His Relationship
It’s obvious that Ryan Seacrest was drawn to Shayna Taylor’s beauty and charm. The famous couple first met in 2013 trough friends, but you might not know that their relationship grew even stronger thanks to food.
“It was the first time we were together, and she said, ‘I make these amazing gluten-free pancakes,’ and I said, ‘What?! Well, tell me everything!’ ” Seacrest revealed. “That is all it took for me to really fall,” he said. It’s clear that the couple, as Seacrest once said it, has serious “food chemistry.”
That’s why when they moved into their New York City apartment together, they wanted to be sure that the kitchen was absolutely perfect for their cooking needs. “We love this kitchen because it’s open,” Ryan revealed. “It’s definitely got enough space. Coming from California we had a lot of space, so we like it for that reason. We also like it because it’s in an open room, so you’re never separated. One of us could be watching something.”
The famous couple also uses their large island breakfast bar while cooking healthy foods such as kombucha and natural almond milk. It’s good that Seacrest and Taylor also have similar living styles as they both admit they like to have a hyper-organized fridge with items separated by baskets.
Ryan Seacrest and Shayna even have a favorite kitchen appliance! It’s the dehydrator, which they use on fruits and veggies like peppers and kale. “I am the cook for the most part in the family,” Taylor revealed.
However, they have different tastes in the types of wines they like. Taylor appreciates biodynamic wines because they don’t have added sulfites, which means they don’t “make you feel bad or lethargic.” On the other hand, Seacrest is less picky. “I like wines that are open,” he says. “So we have that in common.”
Of course, beyond eating healthy and working out religiously, the couple’s love for each other is more than obvious. “We’re very in sync,” the Live host said. “Moving to a new city together was fun because we were also having a new chapter together,” said Shayna. “Living together is easy.”
Many people want to know how they find time for each other with Ryan’s super busy schedule and Taylor’s fast-growing food and wellness blog Shayna’s Kitchen. The truth is, the couple is very committed to making time for each other. “For the last six months, we both wake up an hour earlier than we used to so we have time together to work out, take a walk, take our time without having to rush. It’s been wonderful,” Seacrest said. He also counts tango lessons, boxing and yoga among their recent favored activities.
It’s obvious that their present is cozy and nice, but what about their future? The couple doesn’t seem too worried about this. “Family is so important to me, and to Shayna as well, but I’ve always tried to put life into a master schedule with deadlines, and I don’t want to do that with Shayna,” he says. “We both try to actually be in this moment, feel this connection, enjoy it and let it grow.”
Ryan and Shayna love spending these moments at their home, “We have this weird thing where we listen to spa music at home,” Ryan admitted. “So whatever time work is done, the spa music is on and it really relaxes you. People come over. They don’t ask but you can tell they are trying to figure out what’s happening… If we’re going to give them a robe or something, you know for them to walk to the spa.” Shayna also adds food into the mix, “Spa music, a good, not-complicated television show, and a home-cooked meal, probably.”
American Idol Returns
Ryan Seacrest, Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie will be gracing our TV screens once again in 2019. American Idol returns for its second season on Sunday, March 3, with a two-hour season premiere airing from 8 PM.
During the CMA Awards, three contestants who auditioned but didn’t get a golden ticket were given another chance. The audience voted for one of them, Meghan Woods, to advance to the Hollywood Round.
American Idol released the news via a video featuring the returning judges. “Do you know where you’re going to be on March 3?” Katy Perry asked. “I know where I’m going to be on March 3,” country star Luke Bryan replied. “Me too,” added the third judge, Lionel Richie. “You know, I’m going to be watching American Idol on ABC.”
